I am an artist based in Indianapolis, IN. I'm deeply inspired by a diverse range of influences that shape both my style and perspective. My work is a reflection of my passion for op art, bright colors, and impressionism, fused with a keen appreciation for good design, typography, and the expressive energy of graffiti art.
My artistic journey began with early exposure to Chicago's public sculptures and museums, which instilled in me a profound appreciation for the intersection of art and urban culture. I draw inspiration from the boldness of Warhol's pop art, the emotive brushstrokes of Van Gogh with the geometric precision and use of color in artists such as Richard Diebenkorn, Bridget Riley and Richard Anuszkiewicz. The iconic compositions of Robert Indiana, and the raw authenticity of Jean-Michel Basquiat also prove to be an underlying inspiration in my work.
I pursued my formal education in art in two vibrant communities. In Memphis, TN, I attended Memphis College of Art for two years, then I transfered to Sarasota, FL, where I attended Ringling College of Art & Design. I received my BFA from Ringling with a focus in Printmaking in both traditional and modern printmaking processes, including etching, screenprinting, and lithography, as well as various forms of digital and technology-based printmaking.
These experiences have enriched my understanding of artistic techniques, cultural contexts, and the importance of artistic dialogue.
My art is a visual dialogue that merges these influences into a unique aesthetic language. Through the interplay of vibrant hues, dynamic patterns, and expressive forms, I strive to create work that resonates on both a visual and emotional level. Each piece is a testament to my fascination with the play of light, color theory, shape and the rhythmic balance between chaos and order.
Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity in the viewer, inviting them to explore the layers of meaning and emotion embedded within each composition. I am continually exploring new techniques and concepts, pushing the boundaries of my creativity to create art that not only captivates but also challenges perceptions.
